52 Weeks of Felt Paintings - Week 52
My last felt painting of the year is another pet portrait.  I plan on continuing this project next year. It definitely keeps me accountable and keeps me creating new projects. I hope you've enjoyed following along!  Did you have a favorite painting from this year?

Hopefully I'll find some time to blog more soon--I miss it, but you all are keeping me busy with felting orders!

52 Weeks of Felt Paintings - Week 51
I've had a great week! I'm still super busy getting local orders out for friends and family, but I'm down to just a few things to do and that feels so great.  Looking back at all I've made and accomplished in the past few months makes me really proud and ready grow this business of mine.  I've got some exciting things planned for the next few months, so stay tuned!

I'm sharing another pet portrait hoop this weekend.  This is a memorial piece.

Happy weekend to you, friends!

One of My Favorite Things to Make
I love making custom pet portraits.  It is incredibly rewarding.  For some folks, I'm memorializing their pets that have passed on.  At first, that task seems very intimidating.  What if they don't like my mini version of their furry family member?  What if I can't get it right? In the end though, each portrait comes together, and I'm excited to send it off to its family. Here are a few that I've done lately:

I have two versions of pet portraits: this one is smaller, and these two (dog and cat) are larger and weighted on the bottom so that it could be used as a pin cushion or paper weight.  If you like them, I'd be honored to make one for you.  Contact me on any platform if you're interested.
So I had a Birthday Yesterday...
...aaaaand now I'm 30.  Yup.  Thirty seemed so old even five years ago.  But, really, I'm thankful to be thirty.  It's certainly better than the alternative of never reaching thirty.  As I get older, I find it easier to settle into who I am and the life I have. And, I don't really mean "accept" when I say "settle."  Mostly, I mean that it's easy to be myself.  And it's wonderful.

My birthday weekend was great, too.  Our Friday and Saturday evenings were spent on the deck with my favorite person, my favorite beer and new art supplies.  Over the weekend, we went for a little hike with the pups, enjoyed a yummy bagel from my new fave bagel place in town, and spent as much time as we could outside.

Oh, and there were cupcakes. Happy Birthday to me!

Playtime with the Pups
We've been fortunate enough to have some beautiful weather these past couple weeks.  Our backyard is blanketed in yellow leaves, so of course, we had to go play in them.  Our dogs even seem to enjoy trotting through the leaves, so I grabbed the camera, and we had some fun.

This is Elphie.  She loves her frisbee.

And this is Luna.  She loves her oversized tennis ball.

I just love their floppy ears.

Both dogs were shelter dogs.  Elphie was four months old when we adopted her.  She's totally my husband's dog.  When we adopted Luna, she was about one and a half years old.  She was all skin and bones.  She's crazy.  But we love her anyway. I can't imagine my life without them.
